How to measure

Place your foot on top of a sheet of paper with your heel next to the wall and mark the point of the farthest most toe, then measure the distance from the wall. Repeat this procedure for the other foot and compare the measurements against our table.

The "last" is a technical term referring to the length from the heel to the longest point of the foot, usually the tip of the big toe. This measurement plays a key role in determining the shoe’s overall fit and structure.

Originally designed by Norman Walsh for the Bolton Harriers Athletic Club’s 1981 New York Marathon, the Ensign has evolved from a hiking-inspired running shoe into a timeless everyday essential — refined through decades of craftsmanship and innovation.

Its upper combines premium 600D reinforced nylon with lightweight thermal padding, offering warmth, breathability, and a soft touch. The pigskin-lined collar enhances comfort by improving moisture absorption and airflow. Featuring Freudenberg midsole technology for reduced weight and improved flexibility, the hand-finished EVA foam sole delivers adaptive cushioning for all-day comfort — keeping every step light, balanced, and enduring.
