WHIRLWIND 于 1980 年随 LA'84 发布，是 TORNADO 的轻量级训练替代品，注重性能，而 LA'84 则优先考虑支撑性和耐用性。
TORNADO Lite 在 1970 年代的经典款基础上进行了更新，采用了更轻盈、更现代的廓形。采用尼龙绒面革鞋面、EVA 缓震和锯齿外底，将马拉松传统与日常极简风格融为一体。
